Membership Benefits

As well as receiving our montly newsletter members are invited to member only events, such as extended bushwalking holidays. In 2025 this included the week long trip to Flinders Island with discounts applied to airfares and accomodation. Discounts are available to members and are listed in the newsletter or advised via email. The discounts can be accessed using the membership card, which includes our club identification number. Members are also entitled to attend general meetings including the end of year celebration. Prospective members are welcome to come along to a meeting and go on an activity as a causal visitor before joining. To join please complete a membership form and send it to the treasurer with payment.  BBOC Membership Application

Casual Visitors

Casual visitors pay $3 per day if attending an activity. This ensures you are covered by our insurance. Regular visitors are asked to join the club after the first few walks, as it is a condition of our insurance is that causal members do not attend more than three walks.

Insurance

The club is affiliated with Bushwalking Victoria who provide various membership services including insurance. Club insurance does not include ambulance cover, which remains the individual's responsibility. Ambulance cover is available from Ambulance Victoria and can be accessed through their website here: https://www.ambulance.vic.gov.au/membership/. Unfortunately, children under five are not covered by our insurance and therefore may not attend any activities, except meetings and the end of year celebration. Children over the age of five must be accompanied by their parent or a guardian.
